A Family of Repairmen

Our music shop was established in the summer of 1969 when Pete Rodriguez returned to San Antonio from Dallas and began repairing musical instruments in his garage. By 1983, the facility expanded to accommodate additional equipment and a front counter, transforming into Musical Instrument Service, affectionately known as “Pete’s” among friends. Over the years, Pete’s wife, Arje, and sons, Hugo and Leo, contributed significantly to the shop’s operations. Hugo, the eldest son, served as General Manager until his passing in 2020.

Since 2022, Hugo’s eldest son, Eric, has returned to lead the shop under its new entity, Musical Instrument Service, LLC. Today, the Rodriguez family, alongside lifelong musician friends, proudly own and manage the shop. Pete remains actively involved, particularly with horn repairs and entertaining customers. We cherish our role in continuing Pete’s legacy by providing exceptional musical instrument services to our community and friends.
